Dr Welby Ings presented at the 10th International Lessons Learned Conference (10ILLC) dated 17 May 17.

Dr Welby Ings published ‘Disobedient Teaching’. The incredibly successful book looks at disobedience as a kind of professional behavior and considers how positive disobedience influences the way we influence change. As a boy, Welby fought against the conventional schooling system and until the age of 15, he could neither read nor write. He was eventually expelled and then later suspended from Teachers’ College. Now as an award winning academic, designer, and filmmaker Welby challenges the way we look at creativity and leadership. He studies how we attract, hold, and grow highly innovative people in organisations and how it is that certain individuals can navigate damaged systems to become profoundly influential leaders, being valued because they can grow genuine leadership in others.
