NZ Army Sergeant Major Army NCO Symposium 2018
Sergeant Major of the Army Daniel A. Dailey was sworn in as the 15th Sergeant Major of the Army on January 30, 2015. Dailey has held every enlisted leadership position during his career, ranging from Bradley Fighting Vehicle commander to command sergeant major. As sergeant major of the Army, Dailey is the Army chief of staff’s personal adviser on matters affecting the enlisted force. He devotes the majority of his time traveling throughout the Army to observe training and talk to Soldiers and their families. He sits on a wide variety of councils and boards that make decisions affecting enlisted Soldiers and their Families and is routinely invited to testify before Congress. Dailey is the public face of the U.S. Army’s non-commissioned officer corps, representing the corps to the American people in the media and through business and community engagements.
Sergeant Major of the Army Daniel A. Dailey sat down with New Zealand Army Sergeant Bailey for an interview as the key note speaker at the recent SMA NCO Symposium 2018.
Message from New Zealand Sergeant Major Army Clive Douglas:
Tēnā koutou, nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa, I am honoured to welcome you to the Sergeant Major Army Non-Commissioned
Officer Symposium 2018. This is the second event held in Linton Military Camp focusing on areas that are critical to helping our organisation learn, grow and move forward. Leadership, learning, collaboration and relationships are the foundations that our men and women exemplify everyday both in New Zealand and on operations. I am pleased that this event captures all of those themes and there is opportunity to reflect, discuss and learn amongst our coalition partners.
